What is Massage Therapy?

Massage Therapy, otherwise known as medical massage or sports massage, is performed by a qualified remedial massage therapist. The biggest difference between this massage and other styles of massage is the training needed to become qualified and certified. It is quite an intensive study and massage therapists are highly respected by the medical profession.

How does it work?

Massage therapy must be performed by a trained remedial massage therapist, not just a general massage therapist. Our resident remedial massage therapist combines nutrition, lifestyle interventions, and herbal medicine to help you get back on track with your health.

Who can it help?

Remedial massage can support anyone experiencing conditions like

  • Sports injuries
  • Back spasms and disc problems
  • Chronic pain
  • Headaches and migraines

What can I expect
during my appointment?

An initial consultation to determine areas in need of treatment.  This will enable the therapist to give you the best treatment possible.  The therapist will work on problem areas and surrounding areas if necessary with a range of techniques, such as deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy and myofascial release.
